This issue has some funny personal anecdotes about Christoph and his young son, Herbie, drawings, poems (good ones!) and a short story. And it’s bound with real twine! I hold Christoph in awe and also in pity, because he says he has no email and no cell phone. Maybe that’s why he has time to tie all these little pieces of twine? (28pp – 1/2 size)

You may recognize Blue from No-Dachi comics, and in fact, Blue’s new zine is an updated re-working of No-Dachi #3. He writes in prose poetry about being an artist in Brooklyn while trying to fight off boredom in part time jobs, all the while imagining himself in other places and times. (22 pp – 1/2 size)

Jessica worked in a record store and these are her stories: saving a toddler’s life and making small talk with customers who are buying porn, while dealing with crazy customers, creepy bosses, Star Wars-obsessed co-workers. (52pp – 1/2 size)

This is a cut and paste perzine from Jessica of Broken Records zine, which is basically two zines in one. The first part is a frank account of how and why she filed a restraining order against her father. The second part is excerpts from some of her academic writing on the subject of TV: how race affects perception of TV characters, and the de-humanization of MTV celebs by turning them into brands. (32pp – 1/2 size)

If someone asked me “What’s a zine?” I would probably toss them this. Edited by Taylor from Virgina, this zine is packed with music reviews (mostly American punk bands), zine reviews, a couple of essays, and some short fiction about road trips.
